Tuesday 24 Apr. The day of our last XVs match was here and a match against the current premiership champions loomed. Preparations for this had not gone exactly to plan with many people suffereing from a change of diet, Imodium at the ready. Our game suffered from the lack of energy we had in the legs. The NSA were by a far a faster side on the day and quick moves saw our downfal. A hard fought period of pressure applied by the Stags just before half time saw no rewards on the score board. We were able to apply the same pressure in the second half, but only for short periods of time. During the match we had the honour of being visited by Sir Michael Knight who took a keen interest in both the Rugby and our work towards the childrens orphanage.
Again, we were to celebrate our match with the lads from the NSA. Presentations were made to both sides by Mike Edwards and Nikolay Kolev. The Stags presented the NSA with a plague and a Stag. A last minute panic was averted by Tim Ward as someone manged to knock one of the antlers off the Stag, 30 minutes before we were due to present it. I won't say who it was, why would I want to drop myself in it? Ben Court and Taff Thomas were both presented with a plague from Nikolay, and Mike Edwards presented the tracksuit bottoms to go with the top which had been 'nicked' at our last post match celebrations. (see Day 2).
Again we convincingly won the third half, the song book was well and truly used and the Stags went back to the hotel for an early night. Thanks here to all the lads from the NSA who have been perfect hosts to us and demostrated that although we speak different languages, we understand each other better the later it gets.
Cheers Lads.
